The perfect lunch, snack or dinner treat. This decadent toast will make you feel like you’re eating out!
Ingredients
- sliced mushrooms (any kind)
- extra virgin olive oil
- sourdough bread
- ricotta cheese
- minced garlic
- arugula (or any green you’d like kale, spinach etc.)
- red chili flakes (optional, for spice)
- hot honey or regular honey
- salt and pepper, to taste
Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil in a pan and add mushrooms. Sautéed the sliced mushrooms until browned and cooked through. Then add about a clove of minced garlic and a pinch of chili flakes. Brown the garlic for about a minute or until fragrant. (Don’t burn) Then add arugula to the pan and sautéed for another 2-3 minutes.
Toast the sourdough bread on your stove top while you wait for your topping to cook. Cook until lightly charred on both sides.
Take the mushroom mixture off the heat and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Plate the bread and spread ricotta cheese generously on top. Then add your mushroom, arugula, garlic topping.
Drizzle olive oil and honey on top and enjoy!
** I didn’t suggest portion sizes for the ingredients bc you should use your judgement based on how many pieces of toast you’re making and how much will fit on top.
