Athens
The second stop for us was Athens. Typically, Danny and I prefer island time over city time when we travel, so we only stayed here for a full day and night. Also, everyone we spoke to said that was all we would need. And they were right, it was the perfect amount of time to see the Acropolis and the central city of Athens.
Crete
Greece’s largest island, where me and my fiancé and most frequent travel companion, Danny, found some of the most beautiful beaches, met the friendliest and proudest people and indulged in the most incredible food.
After a 5 island tour of Greece, Crete is easily labeled as my favorite, and it’s why I’m blogging about it first.
The easiest way to get to Crete is flying there from Athens. We flew into Chania from Athens in a little less than an hour. (A ferry from Athens would have taken about 7 hours!) Chania is the second largest city in Crete and ended up being the perfect hub for us to see as much as we could of such a large island, in only 4 days.
